It woin't be green although I like green, they showed a comparable with green in the wash and out of the lineup in montreal's game yesterday. It's staggering how bad they are without him.

When they were playing well this season, it was wideman that was playing well in green's absence. And he's a free agent so i'm sure they want to re up him. we are going after carlson, and i'm kinda giddy about that. Whaqt you sai8d about Gags is right, he will has never been valued higehr then he is now. and with all the small forwards going forward, gags, omark, lander, belanger at least 2 if not 3 have to go. nice blog clouts.

no thanks - three weeks of good play doesn't erase seasons of underachieving.

Green can fetch a much bigger fish than Gagner, and unless GM is going senile, Carlson should be untouchable at this point.

i totally agree if there is a time to trade gagner its now whether the win or lose the deal. he hasnt been worth this much in a long time or ever. size is needed all over and the oilers are young at the center position except for horcoff and hes in my eyes which isnt much is a decent player. if the oilers could get carlson eventhough i dislike the kid for scoring in overtime against the canadians in overtime world juniors 2010 hes going to be good and i believe alzner is or would be the future in the copper and blue. its a good starting point

No question Green has talent, but the oilers need defense, not wingers who play D
Green is the kind of guy we need to target in a year or two when we are ready to actually compete in the playoffs. Right now we need a tough, solid, steady D man who can play big minutes.

I'd rather have Dumba over Green. Dumba can play offense but make a crushing hit and cause turnovers. Giving up Gagner, Jones and the first for Green is just ridiculous.

Watching gags the last little while has been fun. He's finally starting to "get it". He is also turning out to be a great two way center. In other words Richard, you are wrong, I think he will be worth even more at the draft at least.

Unless the trade is for someone that makes Tambo do cartwheels naked down Jasper ave in joy, I wouldn't give him up. In fact, I would much rather see Horcoff gone, but then, that contract hangs like a albatross around the neck of the entire team, even if Horcs fills a valuable multi-tasking type role. (And he does, just can't score worth ****)

I see Gags turning into a Horcoff type player, except gags will be averaging 50+ points per season, and doesn't have hands of stone.

See the reasoning about trading him, sure would hate to see him go now that he is turning the corner and becoming a complete player. have to be one heck of a name coming back.

an excellent Idea, I can't think of really any better destination, they like those inflatted ciontracts to get them close to the cap. How many futures would it take to land say kkulikov back? I hear garrison is asking for the moon.

Um yeah, that's kind of what I said, I just think the Oilers would benefit greater from getting the steady, tough Dman first. I don't see the point right now of having another Dman who can't play defense.

Thinking about this, it occurred to me that it may be a shocking trade. The Caps have gone to hell since Green went down, and it's something we as Oiler fans should know as well with our injuries. A lack of a puck moving defenseman.

If Gags goes to Washington, I wouldn't be in the slightest surprised if Gilbert went with him for Carlson plus 1st. The East is getting real tight there.

He actually plays quite well, just not worth his contract. If he were a 2 million 3rd line guy I'd love to have him around. Even with the terrible contract I don't hate him on the team, great at pk and f/o.

Well I don't think I would call the whole team that if you didn't know dale tallon took like half of the blackhawks and added people like Fleischmann, jovo etc... But I still think he would play like poop for us plus we need score and he can't score worth a poop
